"Into the sky 
unto the stars!" 
they said

"A goal can never be 
too grand, too high!"

But I would rather 
live with lesser goals 
stay with my feet 
on steady ground, 
go slow with what 
I strive for,

take my time 
to not look up 
but rather just around, 
enjoy what eyes can see, 
my hands can touch 
my nose can smell 
my mouth can taste

the things that touch the heart 
not just the mind 
in its escapist dreams.

The songs of life 
in all it's boundless colors 
that we play 
and sing together; 
beauty freely shared 
enrich the days, 
make eyes light up.

That is the sky 
that's present in my dreams, 
the stars I see 
in children's eyes.
